The Funeral of SM_007

Note: This post is "in character."

*The Death Match Arena was destroyed. Many fans died, and it
seems that not all of the Death Match participants survived. As
fighters and fans alike scour the building's remains to find more
survivors, one man, with his wife, and a young fan, left the
Arena almost immediatly. A day has passed since the Arena was
destroyed, and still some of the participants remain, trying to
salvage what they can and make sense of a senseless situation.
But the man who left the crumbled shell of a building now stands
in a field, wearing a trennchcoat, as rain drips down his face.
He stands in a graveyard over the tombstone of a former friend,
ally, opponent, enemy, and partner, SM_007.*

*As the dark and depressing clouds loom overhead, and rain beats
down on the surroundings, Tridus stands over the grave of SM_007,
the only person showing up. He knows that others hand their own
superficial worries and needs, and it pains him that while he,
too, is superficial, he can find the time to leave his character
and pay respect to the man who wanted to just leave his character
behind. Narri stands at his side while the priest reads out of
the Holy Bible, and SM_007's grave is lowered into the ground.
Narri whispers to Y2T.*

Narri: Is anyone else coming?

*Tridus just sighs.*

Tridus: No. Stefan is busy in a van, Sidious is busy talking
about his raise, Sid is too busy just trying to get the show back
on in a new building... All more important to them, I suppose,
than this man's death.

*Tridus sighs again, and the priest closes his book, and walks
away. The casket was finally placed into the ground. All that
stands on the hill is a grave and a tree which looms over the
coffin. Tridus turns around to walk away, still thinking of the
destruction, the humanity, and the man in the coffin, whom nobody
seemed to truly care about. Narri clings to his arm.*

Narri: You okay?

Tridus: No. And neither are we.

*And with that, Tridus pulls himself away from Narri and gets
into his car. Narri follows a few steps behind, and without
saying anything to each other, they drive off into the distance.
Rain still makes pit-patter noises as it falls into the hole
where SM_007's coffin is located, in the dank and dark afternoon
when SM_007 was put to rest.*
