I'm using hardware/software from several places to make this page work, and I'd like to put links here to them. You can consider anything on this list Goon Approved (but not necessarily Goon Certified).
- Anything of a graphical nature was not made by me, unless it looks like a stick figure. Stuff in the photo gallery (screenshots, scanned pictures, etc) were either taken by me or somebody I know and scanned in, or by using a digital camera. Actual artwork (flash stuff, etc) was made by somebody else. Quite possibly by my girlfriend, Liz (aka Psychokitty).
- The v2 (current) layout was created by Liz as well.
- Liz made the new thumbs up/thumbs down images. The old ones were rather blatantly borrowed from LiveJournal's Comment Page.
- The Mozilla shortcut icon was taken from a collection at Leo's Icon Archive. (and ever since I put it up, Internet Explorer has stopped showing any shortcut icon)
- hiredgoons.ca was registered with Register.com, whom also provide DNS service. I've gotten one piece of email from them that I didn't really want, otherwise the service has been fast and useful.
- Hosting is provided by The Cats Web, which is run by a friend of mine. This server is pretty stable in my experience... if its ever down for you, its most likely my fault. :-)
- The syndicated feed was created using a Livejournal style which was created by Insomnia.
- The Photo Album is using a script called Gallery, which is generally speaking the best software of its kind that I've seen. I'm not sure if you can rearrange the order of the pictures/albums yet...
- Browser Sniffing which is used basically for printing a message laughing at Netscape 4 users on the front page is provided by PHPSniff. Some of the capability detection functions in this need work (mainly in their not knowing what Opera can do), but I don't use that. If you just want to know what browser somebody is using for stat or ridicule purposes, this is an easy to use solution.
- I have more advanced stats then the ones that are publicaly linked. Those are provided by Awstats.
- This site uses Apache, PHP, and MySQL, so obviously it uses phpMyAdmin. Actually when I am doing things at work and using the Oracle database, I miss phpMyAdmin. Lets not even get into how much I miss it when I'm using MS SQL Server. (although Mysql-Front is really nice too)
- Definitions for stuff I didn't know were taken from Everything2.
- Examples for <LINK> content come from Tim's site.
- Information on creating Alternate Stylesheets (try it if your browser supports it) came from A List Apart.
- The rest of the stuff on the page was most likely either made by me, or blatently stolen. Don't ask which one, and I won't have to have your legs broken.
- Special thanks to The Simpsons - without that show I would probably have a different domain name.
